AKACATS is the project of Chilean MC and singer-songwriter Catalina Rojas. The artist is gearing up to deliver "Lo Siento," the second release from her forthcoming debut full-length 'Cupido', and a pulsing, euphonic ode that integrates the melodies of R&B with the rolling kick and bass of trap. The single is accompanied by cinematic visual counterpart directed by Felipe Prado, and gives life to the emotional content of the song, which examines how life can sometimes feel agonizing, but by accepting it's ups and downs, we can learn, begin to understand, and achieve personal growth.

"The downs of life, at the end of the day, are the ones that teach us the most and give us the opportunity to wonder about important things." - AKACATS

"Lo Siento" was given it's magic touch by producer Nicolas Carrasco a.k.a Foex, recorded in Santiago, with synthesizers performed by Felipe Metraca, and piano by Gabo Padilla. The single is available on all digital platforms.

About AKACATS

AKACATS is a Chilean singer whose musical style is a mix between lo-fi rap, soul, and Latin American music. Her career as an artist arose while hanging out at a friend’s studio in late 2018.

She had never rapped before, let alone created rhymes, but one day her friend offered to produce a hip hop album for her and she accepted the challenge. Soon, she realized that singing was what she really wanted to do, and the project started taking shape. From jamming in a friend’s studio to releasing her album on Subterraneo Club, the singer has evolved her sound through recording and collaborating with different producers, and playing at festivals with great women that represent modern Latin music. Her inspirations are Biig Piig (a legendary female artist that represents the genre on the underground rap scene), Pimp Flaco with his heartfelt lyrics, the harmonies of Nick Murphy, and the stylings of San Senra.
