"Conduits for contemplation, traversing our winding paths of existence. A forward momentum guiding us to our ultimate destination, monolithic and roaring, sometimes we are alone, sometimes we are accompanied. A true heartbeat." – Richard Vergez

homework, the nomadic gallery celebrating emerging artists from around the globe, will present "Trains of Thought," a solo exhibition by South Florida-based artist Richard Vergez, during Miami Art Week 2022. Opening at The Knoxon located at 7411 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138 on Wednesday, November 30 at 6pm, the show will run through Saturday, December 3rd, with various activations planned throughout its run that will be announced soon.

"Trains of Thought" collects the Cuban-American artist's mixed-media collages and installations of trains, aiming to reveal the way these vehicles interact with our lives, both physically and metaphorically. These works resonate deeply in a city like Miami, which continues to suffer from a massive deficit in public transit options that might be alleviated by an increased investment in trains.

Salad Days, homework's most recent activation also took place in Miami and featured a group exhibition by four locally-based artists along with panels discussions, live music programming, and other events. Earlier in 2022, the gallery presented a solo show by Julián Chams at Ace Hotel New York during New York Art Month.
